Sometimes it's easy to put ministry and other things over family. I have been struggling with a lot of things lately. The Lord recently told me go back to the basics. It should always be God first, then family, then everything else should follow. Sometimes we can get these things easily out of order. What many of us forget is our family is our first missionary field that God gives us. Even if you may not have children, if you just have a spouse, than that is still considered your family. Time is very valuable and once it's gone, it's gone. There is no getting it back. One of the things I've struggled with the most over the last few years is putting things off. I am also guilty of putting my family to the side and then putting ministry ahead of them and not even meaning to. I believe the enemy is trying to destroy families/marriages right now and in return it is destroying the church. I believe in time God will begin birthing churches back in homes again just like in the book of Acts where it all began. Praying together is important, reading the Bible together is important, home cooked meals and eating at the table together is important, communication is important, worshiping together, and doing things together as a unit is important. Sometimes we just have to go back to the basics and then everything else will fall into place. Spend time with God in your quiet place and then keep Him in the center of your homes. Allow His love and light to overflow from you to those around you. Our mission field begins in the home. Start there and I believe we will see things begin to shift in our lives.
